HH Shaikh Mohammed bin Salman attends 28th Quran competition

Manama, May 28 (BNA): His Highness Shaikh Mohammed bin Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa today attended the closing ceremony of the 28th Bahrain Defence Force (BDF) recitation of the Holy Qur’an and Knowledge of Islamic Studies competition, held under his patronage. HH Shaikh Mohammed was welcomed upon arrival by the BDF Assistant Chief of Staff for Human Resources, Major General Shaikh Ali bin Rashid Al Khalifa, Royal Bahrain Air Force Commander Air Marshal Shaikh Hamad bin Abdullah Al Khalifa and a number of senior BDF officers. HH Shaikh Mohammed praised the outstanding level of proficiency and commitment demonstrated by the participants, highlighted the role played by the BDF in promoting Islamic values. The ceremony opened with a recitation from the Holy Qur’an, followed by a speech by Brigadier General Salem Ali Al Buainain, in which he extended his appreciation of HH Shaikh Mohammed's support for the ceremony and noted the important role the ceremony in promoting Quranic teachings. Captain Islam Abdulqadir Hassan, in his speech, extended thanks to the BDF’s General Command for organising the ceremony and its support for initiatives to promote Islamic values. HH Shaikh Mohammed honoured the panel of judges and presented the participants with certificates and awards. He recognised the Royal Bahraini Air Force as the unit with the highest numbers of participants in the competition.
