HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad visits tolerance museum

Los Angeles, Sep. 14 (BNA): Hosted by Rabbi Marvin Hier, His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Representative of His Majesty the King for Charity Works and Youth Affairs, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Royal Charity Organisation, visited the Museum of Tolerance at the Simon Wiesenthal Centre in Los Angeles, California, before the inauguration of the Bahrain Declaration and the King Hamad Global Centre for Interfaith Dialogue and Peaceful Coexistence. A number of American students had a direct meeting with His Highness Shaikh Nasser at the museum. His Highness allowed for open discussion of youth's ideas and aspirations regarding common ambitions to achieve intellectual convergence. They also discussed the contributions of the new generation in forming visions, building bridges of peace and tolerance and accepting other cultures and religions. This stemmed from His Highness’ conviction that direct communication with youth is the most successful way to find common ground. His Highness stressed that peace and tolerance are not merely slogans, but are parts of our lifestyles as Bahrainis, which we have practiced for centuries and wish to extend to the world. His Highness added, "If there is darkness in some part of this world, the coming one will be more beautiful in light of peace, love and coexistence. We are all part of one world." His Highness toured sections of the Museum of Tolerance which innovatively presented historical documents pertaining to religious tolerance, making the museum a unique piece of art, which His Highness commended.
