HH Shaikh Nasser: Sport for unity, challenge, solving conflicts

Manama, (BNA): HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa emphasized Egypt’s role led by President Al-Sisi in maintaining international peace. HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Representative to HM the King for Charity Works and Youth Affairs, Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, President of Bahrain Olympic Committee, said that during his participation as a key speaker in the opening session of the second edition of the World Youth Forum titled (Role of world leaders in building and sustaining peace) being hosted by Egypt. President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi of Egypt, Minister of Youth and Sports Affairs Hisham bin Mohammed Al Jowder and Bahrain’s Ambassador to Egypt, Shaikh Rashid bin Abdulrahman Al Khalifa, were present. HH Shaikh Nasser offered sympathies to Egypt’s President and people over the Minya bus attack that targeted innocent civilians. He highlighted solidarity with Egypt in this situation. He pointed out Egypt’s long rich history and the development seen by the Republic of Egypt, calling it a country of peace and coexistence. HH Shaikh Nasser talked about his personal vision of peace management, which focused on three basic axes, security, royal care and credibility of hope. He attached great significance of sport as a vital factor for solving conflicts, saying that Bahrain’s policy is to steer the youth clear of becoming involved in politics and conflicts by getting them engaged in sport, noting the multiple sport successes achieved during the part period. He talked about the dissemination of the ideology of extremism and exploiting the youth in issues far from peace. He underlined the officials’ responsibility for accentuating sport as a key factor for peace and unity. President Al-Sisi commended HH Shaikh Nasser’s speech that contained many meaningful words of peace. He stressed his resolve to counter terrorism and extremism, wishing for the world could live in peace. HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad attended the dinner banquet hosted by President Al-Sisi in honor of the high-level guests participating in the World Youth Forum being held in Egypt. Minister of Youth and Sports Affairs Hisham bin Mohammed Al Jowder and Bahrain’s Ambassador to Egypt, Shaikh Rashid bin Abdulrahman Al Khalifa, also attended.
