High Committee for the Development of Hawar Islands holds first meeting

Manama, Jan. 30 (BNA): HM the King’s Personal Representative, President of the Supreme Council For Environment, HH Abdullah bin Hamad Al Khalifa, today chaired the first meeting of the High Committee for the Development of Hawar Islands. On behalf of the committee members, HH Shaikh Abdullah Al Khalifa welcomed the royal confidence vested in him to chair the committee, as well as appointing the committee members.  HH Shaikh Abdullah Al Khalifa listened to the committee strategic vision for the development of Hawar Islands to turn them to a sustainable tourism model.  The meeting discussed the development plans required to upgrade the islands infrastructure and the provision of transportation. It also discussed setting out tourism investment conditions in the islands, in addition to providing promotional and marketing programmes necessary to attract tourists and tourism projects, while preserving the marine wealth and protecting the environment and wildlife.
