High Urban Planning Committee established

Manama, May 11 (BNA): His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al-Khalifa issued decree 35 for 2016 establishing the High Urban Planning Committee.
Article 1: .
A committee known as (High Urban Planning Committee) shall be established under the chairmanship of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al-Khalifa, Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Prime Minister and shall be referred to in this decree as (Committee) and include as members:
1. Deputy Premier, Head of the Ministerial Committee for Social Services, Telecommunications and Information.
2. Deputy Premier, Head of Ministerial Committee for Construction and Infrastructure.
3. Energy Minister.
4. Works, Municipalities and Urban Planning Minister.
5. Royal Court Chief.
6. Economic Development Board (EDB) Chief Executive Officer.
7. Urban Planning director-general.
8. Military Works director.
Article 2: .
The committee which aims to upgrade the standard of urban planning in Bahrain and ensure sustainable urban development shall have required prerogatives to achieve its objectives.
Article 3: .
The committee shall form among its members and others subcommittees to discuss any issues pertaining to its duties and subcommittees shall submit results of their works to the committee.
The committee shall commission anyone it deems competent and specialised to conduct studies and researches centred on issues pertaining to its duties.
Article 4: .
The relevant Government departments shall supply the Committee with all that it needs in terms of data, information and studies to conduct its works.
Article 5: .
The Committee Chairman shall issue an edict regulating the work procedures of the Committee and all that relates to its affairs and the Committee shall convene at the invitation of its chairman at the time and place to be specified
Article 6: .
The Prime Minister and ministers shall implement this decree which shall take effect a day after its publication in the Official Gazette.
