HM the King approves party to thank cave rescuers

BANGKOK, July 18 (TNA) -- His Majesty King Maha Vajiralongkorn approved the government’s request to organise a party to express gratitude towards the people who rescued 12 young footballers and their coach of the Wild Boars or Moo Paa football club from Chiang Rai province’s Tham Luang cave. The banquet was set to be held at the Royal Plaza. Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha said HM the King granted the approval and would also supply foods and arrange for performances in the event. General people are also welcome at the party. “It is the great generosity of His Majesty the King for bestowing moral support upon all of us,” the prime minister said. The date of the banquet has not been set yet. Its details will be discussed with the Bureau of the Royal Household. The government planned such parties in Bangkok and other provinces to serve the people who were unable to visit Bangkok for the purpose. Foreign divers who were in the rescue mission would also be invited, Gen Prayut said. The prime minister warned reporters to carefully pose questions to the members of the Moo Paa football club who would have a press conference today. Reporters should not shower the young footballers with questions because they might not have any information to answer, Gen Prayut said. (TNA)
