HM King arrives in Riyadh, reiterates appreciation of Saudi King's efforts

Riyadh, Dec. 10 (BNA): His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa arrived in Saudi Arabia’s capital Riyadh today to head the Kingdom of Bahrain’s delegation to the Arabian Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) 40th Supreme Council Summit. His Majesty was welcomed by the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, His Royal Highness Prince Faisal bin Bandar bin Abdulaziz Al Saud the Governor of Riyadh Region, and GCC Secretary-General Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani. "It gives us immense pleasure as we arrive in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, a country that we are always proud to visit, to express our deep thanks to our brother the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques for his kind invitation to participate in the 40th Gulf Cooperation Council Summit," HM the King said in his arrival statement. "We are proud of our fraternal deep-rooted relations based on a common history and common destiny and which keep expanding at all levels, becoming a model of integration and fraternity. "We affirm that the 40th GCC Summit is an important opportunity for consultation and the exchange of views among Their Majesties and Highnesses the leaders of the member states on ways to reinforce our common action and cooperation, protect our gains and fulfill the aspirations of our people for further prosperity." The consultations also aim "to continue the pivotal role of the GCC in reinforcing security and stability in the region and support efforts to achieve peaceful and comprehensive solutions to its problems and crises and to overcome the challenges it is facing." "As we renew our appreciation of the grand efforts of our brother the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques in the service of our Gulf, Arab and Islamic causes as well as the strategic role of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia regionally and internationally, we stress our confidence that the wisdom and care of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques will lead to outcomes that rise to the challenges we are facing. May this Summit, be, with the will of God, another important step forward in the progress of our Council and the fulfilment of the aspirations of our people," HM the King said.
