HM King hails solid Bahrain-US ties

Manama, Sept.9 (BNA): His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al-Khalifa today received, at Al-Safriya Palace, US Chamber of Commerce President and Chief Executive Officer Thomas J. Donohue, currently on visit to Bahrain. HM the King welcomed Donohue and the accompanying delegation and reviewed solid historic relations binding the Kingdom of Bahrain and the United States of America. He stressed the importance of exchanging such visits between state officials to further bolster joint cooperation in all fields, affirming keenness on strengthening bilateral ties. HM the King hailed solid economic partnership between the two countries, drivern by the Free Trade Agreement (FTA), which doubled the volume of trade exchanges and supported US business activities in the region. He commended American companies that established their regional headquarters in Bahrain, which provides business-friendly facilities and investment potential. "Strategic location and qualified human resources in all sectors have turned Bahrain into an attractive economic and investment destination", said HM the King. He commended the important role of the private sector in supporting Bahrain-US cooperation, by exchanging visits and benefiting from joint agreements to create more investment opportunities and set joint ventures. The US official hailed strong ties, stressing the importance of the Free Trade Agreement (FTA), which boosted commercial ties. He reiterated the US keenness on further developing ties between the two friendly and allied countries to herald more areas of joint cooperation. He expressed his delight at visiting the Kingdom of Bahrain, stressing keenness on bolstering bilateral ties. Latest global economic developments were also discussed.
