HM King receives Al-Sanabel Award for Community Responsibility

Manama, Feb. 22 (BNA): His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa received at Safriya Palace today Head of the Survey and Land Registration Bureau and Honorary President of Al-Sanabel Orphan Care Society Shaikh Salman Bin Abdulla Al-Khalifa, the society's Board Chairman Shaikh Adnan bin Abdullah Al-Qattan, the Deputy Chairman and members who presented him with the Al-Sanabel Award for Community Responsibility in GCC Orphan Care Institutions for the year 2015 in the category of the leading GCC honorary personalities in caring for orphans. The award is a tribute to HM the King for his pioneering humanitarian initiatives, in general, and paternal care for the orphans, in particular. HM the King thanked the Honorary President of Al-Sanabel Orphan Care Society, the Board Chairman and members for the prize, praising the society's humanitarian and philanthropic efforts to provide utmost care for the orphans. He stressed that solidarity is part of Bahrain's inherent civilisational heritage which is a source of pride and a reflection of the Bahraini people's kindness. HM King Hamad pledged to spare no effort in supporting Bahraini orphans, asserting the great care given by Islam to this category of people and wishing the society every success in its humanitarian and charity work. Shaikh Adnan Al-Qattan extended thanks and gratitude to HM the King for the meeting, commending the substantial royal care given to all Bahrainis, in general, and the orphans in particular. He pointed out the society's keenness, since its inception in 1999, to provide the orphans with comprehensive care. He said the society has adopted an approach based on the concept of sustainability in providing services for more than 2500 orphans in Bahrain. He added launching Al-Sanabel Award for Community Responsibility in cooperation with the Regional Network for Community Responsibility aims to honour leading GCC figures and institutions and motivate them to exert more efforts in supporting the orphans. He affirmed that bestowing the first edition on HM the King is a recognition of the pioneering royal initiatives to support the orphans in Bahrain and abroad. He also paid tribute to His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa and His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Premier, for their contributions in this respect. He thanked HM the King for accepting the prize, wishing him abundant good health and a long life. The Honorary President of Al-Sanabel Orphan Care Society Shaikh Salman Bin Abdulla Al-Khalifa presented HM the King with a commemorative gift on the occasion.
