HM King receives Commander of US Central Command

Manama, Feb. 24 (BNA): His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa received at Safriya Palace today Commander of the US Central Command General Lloyd J. Austin, in the presence of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Prime Minister. HM the King lauded strong historical relations between Bahrain and the USA, stressing growing cooperation between both countries mainly in the defence and military field. He underlined Bahrain's keenness on further consolidating bilateral ties for the best interest of both countries and peoples. He also emphasised Bahrain's support to all efforts aimed at boosting regional security and stability. He commended the key role of the USA in promoting regional and international peace and stability, praising the efforts of Gen. Lloyd J. Austin in cementing cooperation between the two friendly countries. He also discussed with Gen. Austin regional and international developments.
