Riyadh, Feb. 3 (BNA): His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al-Khalifa received a copy of the first edition of the Saudi daily newspaper Okaz, which dates back to the 28th of May 1960. Okaz editor-in-chief offered the maiden issue to HM the King on the sidelines of his participation at the opening of the 30th National Festival for Heritage and Culture at the invitation of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al-Saud. The Ministry of National Guard organises the annual festival at Al-Janadriyah, under the auspices of the Saudi monarch. HM the King expressed thanks for the gift, hailing the pioneering role of the Saudi press in highlighting the landmark development achievements attained by Saudi Arabia and its brotherly people. He commended the role of the Saudi press for addressing key Arab, Islamic and international issues through their political analyses. "The success of the Saudi press is a success for all the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) member states", said HM the King, wishing Okaz every success to contribute, along with other dailies, to the development and progress of Saudi Arabia.
