HM King receives participants in Arab Businessmen and Investors Conference

Manama, Nov. 11 (BNA): His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa received at Sakhir Palace today, in the presence of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Premier, participants in the 18th Arab Businessmen and Investors Conference which is held under the patronage of HM the King under the theme “Investing in the Fourth Industrial Revolution: Leadership and Innovation in Digital Economy”. The conference is organised by Bahrain Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BCCI) in cooperation with the Union of Arab Chambers, the Arab League, the Arab Investment and Export Credit Guarantee Corporation and the United Nations Industrial Development Organisation (UNIDO ITPO Bahrain). HM the King welcomed the audience, lauding the pioneering and responsible role of the commercial and industrial chambers and unions in backing the trade and economic movement through their active participation in mapping out policies and making decisions. He praised the conference and its role in shedding light on readiness of the business sector to meet the requirements of the fourth industrial revolution and explore ways of using the fast-paced technological progress to work out appropriate solutions and plans. He also underscored the need the determine the nature and fields of investment as well as the future of entrepreneurship in the world of digital economy. HM the King pointed out the massive efforts made by the Kingdom of Bahrain to work out well-defined plans for organised shifting towards digital economy. He stressed the importance of such conferences in achieving a quantum change in economic development in Bahrain. He also underlined keenness to reach out to citizens and promote cooperation with Arab countries and the world for the best interest of all. He thanked the guests of the Kingdom of Bahrain for choosing it as a destination for their businesses, praising the role of BCCI in supporting the commercial and industrial sector, promoting the national economy and achieving the development goals. BCCI Board Chairman Samir Abdullah Nass extended thanks to HM the King for the meeting, pledging every possible effort to serve the nation and citizens. He also expressed thanks to HM the King for patronising the conference and the 80th anniversary of BCCI which was founded in 1939 as the first commercial chamber in the Arabian Gulf. He stressed the chamber’s long history in the economic and social modernisation process in complementary partnership with the public sector. He also pointed out the chamber’s quality development in terms of role, performance and responsibilities under the pioneering royal reform project.
