HM King receives Southern Governorate citizens

Manama, May 20 (BNA): His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al-Khalifa received this evening, at Al-Sakhir Palace, well-wishers from the Southern Governorate, who congratulated him on the Holy month of Ramadan. The well-wishers prayed to Allah the Almighty to bless HM the King and the loyal people of Bahrain with abundant health, happiness and well-being. They expressed deepest thanks to HM the King, hailing the royal directives to carry out development and housing projects in the Southern Governorate. HM the King stressed the importance of reaching out to Bahraini people during the month of Ramadan, hailing authentic Arab values which cultivate compassion and kinship ties that have marked Bahraini society since olden times. He commended the residents in the Southern Governorates for their honorable stances in defending the homeland and dedication to promote their country’s development and prosperity, alongside other regions of Bahrain. "Bahrain’s landmark development strides are the fruits of wise policies, whose foundations were laid by our fathers and forefathers, who spared no effort to serve the nation," he said. He stressed Bahrain’s resolve to continue development and progress, building on the millennia-old civilizational legacy and citizens’ aspirations towards brighter future. Southern Governor HH Shaikh Khalifa bin Ali bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, in his speech, congratulated HM the King on the blessed occasion. The Southern Governor, on behalf of the governorate’s citizens, took pride in meeting HM the King to reiterate allegiance and loyalty on the blessed month of Ramadan. He said the Southern Governorate is witnessing a quantum leap in various fields, including educational, health and services sectors, thanks to the royal directives, efforts of HRH the Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa and HRH Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Prime Minister. He stressed the importance of maintaining security for the implementation of the development process, praising the capabilities and efforts of the security forces led by Interior Minister Lt-General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, in maintaining security and stability. He stressed the Governorate’s resolve to consolidate cooperation with the police and municipal council to achieve the set governorate's goals. He pointed out the historic sites in the governorate, from which citizens have been deriving examples of giving, sacrifice, commitment and persistence. He reiterated loyalty to HM the King and commitment to continue serving the homeland and royal leadership. HM the King thanked the Southern Governor for his speech, commending the attendees for performing their duties with great dedication, assuming their responsibilities and serving the nation. HM the King met Shaikh Ali Salah Omar, who won the Bahrain web-based International Quran Recitation (Global Reciter) Award, and congratulated him on his achievement. A total of 9200 participants from all over the world took part in the online competition, which was organised by the Ministry of Justice, Islamic Affairs and Endowments.
