HM King relax rules for mourners
BANGKOK, Oct 24 (TNA) - His Majesty King Maha Vajiralongkorn instructed some rules to be relaxed to facilitate mourners, who will come to witness the royal cremation procession of his father, King Bhumibol Adulyadej.
King Vajiralongkorn granted permission for public members to witness the royal procession on the side of the road, close to the Grand Palace’s wall, said minister attached to the Prime Minister's Office, Ormsin Chivapruck
With the King’s permission, more space will be provided for 70,000 people, increased from the limited space for only 40,000 people, arranged earlier.
When each royal procession passes, spectators will prostrate in respect. It will be the pictures of the historic event, which will be broadcast worldwide, said the minister.
Meanwhile, due huge crowds at the screening security point near the Royal Rattanakosin Hotel, he also asked people to enter the site at other security eight check points to reduce waiting time in long queue.
For those who are now camping out inside ahead of the ceremony, they will be asked to leave the site and enter again through the checkpoints from Oct 25 from 5 am, one day before the royal cremation day for the highest security. (TNA)
