HM King's call for establishing Arab Court for Human Rights praised

Cairo, Feb. 23 (BNA): Speaker of the Arab Parliament, Adel bin Abdulrahman Al-Asoomi, has lauded His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa’s call to establish an Arab Court for Human Rights, noting that it reflects the royal interest in developing the Arab human rights system in accordance with a modern vision, and within an organised institutional framework, which confirms Bahrain’s pioneering human rights experience. While addressing the third meeting of the second session of the third legislative term of the Arab Parliament, Al-Asoomi praised the directives of HM King Hamad, and those of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, to provide housing services to the families of some convicts who are benefiting from alternative sentences, marking the anniversary of the National Action Charter. The move indicates Bahrain’s efforts to preserve and protect the gains and rights of the Bahraini family, as well as consolidate the human rights system, he said, commending the kingdom’s strides in enhancing its status in implementing the highest international human rights standards.
