HM King's development efforts praised

Geneva, Sep. 21 (BNA): On the sidelines of the 33rd session of the UN Human Rights Council in Geneva, Secretary General of the Global Institute for Water, Environment and Health (GIWEH) Dr. Nedhal Salim praised the advanced level of sustainable development in Bahrain thanks to the reform project of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa. He expressed surprise at the stance of the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights towards Bahrain who clearly ignored the positive development in Bahrain.
Dr. Salim commended the wise policy of HM the King in sustainable development, stressing Bahrain's pioneering role in supporting the World Environment Organisation (WEO). He demanded the Bahraini civil society organisations to take care of the second and third generations of human rights by focusing on economic, social, cultural and environmental rights and freedoms so as to boost the fundamental right for development which is considered the catalyst of any political and economic reform project. He also hailed the outcome of the Government Forum held recently in Manama as well as the sustainable development policies.
