HM the King's patriotic achievements hailed by HRH Premier

Manama, Apr. 17 (BNA): His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa has asserted that the anarchy and political instability prevailing in some countries prove that democracy that cannot guarantee security and stability will not achieve its goals. Facts on the ground have proved that security and stability are basic demands of peoples, he said, noting that now the ultimate goal of those who used to seek democracy is to live in security and tranquility after suffering from the anarchy and lawlessness created by those hiding behind democracy. Some policies have, unfortunately, consolidated some concepts that are unrealistic, and are aimed at spreading chaos and impeding development and progress in some countries, HRH Premier said. HRH the Prime Minister voiced the stances while receiving at the Gudaibiya Palace today a number of senior state officials, businessmen and media persons. HRH Premier affirmed that His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa has done a lot for the sake of boosting the nation's standing and enhancing the progress of its people, urging all constitutional and popular institutions to rally together to achieve the ultimate goal of preserving the democratic, political and economic achievements that gained the world's admiration and try to optimise them. "Bahrain is on the right path of progress, and thanks to HM the King's wisdom, we are confident to achieve the best for this country and its people," he said, stressing that thanks to the government's resolve and the Bahraini people's cohesion, the kingdom's resources will be harnessed to provide the best health, therapeutic, educational, housing and social services for the Bahraini citizens. HRH the Prime Minister called for the need to hold on to national unity and social cohesion while confronting the extremist ideologies that have become tools of destruction of the their countries' capabilities and potentials, confirming that the people of Bahrain will remain fortified against whoever seeks to sow seeds of discord and division among its members. The terror acts spreading across the world confirm the need for concerted efforts in order to eradicate this scourge, calling for strengthening the foundations of the Gulf Cooperation Council in the security, economic and social fields, as the best means to strengthen the member states' abilities in confronting threats to the region. HRH Premier stressed the need to be always ready to cope with the rapidly-unfolding developments and changes at all levels, especially in the security and economic fields, affirming that the main concern of the Government of Bahrain is to reinforce the security of the country and maintain the pace of the nation-building process. HRH Premier then commended the role of the national Press in national issues, praising the contributions of GCC columnist in Bahraini newspapers, which, he said, reflects the size of the existing rapprochement among GCC peoples, and their sentiments of love towards the kingdom. HRH the Prime Minister urged press and media personnel to use their "pens" as weapons in confronting terrorism and extremism, lauding their patriotic articles. Referring to economic issues, the Prime Minister highlighted the importance of unity among the members of the business community, calling on business officials to rally together the only ultimate goal of serving the national economy, which, he said, will benefit the business sector. HRH Prince Khalifa reviewed with the audience regional and global issues, affirming that the Kingdom of Bahrain adopts balanced stances with all countries of the world and that it extends bridges of cooperation with whoever shares its keenness to achieve common interests. He asserted that the Kingdom rejects all destructive ideology aiming to undermine countries' stability, and is working hand in hand with the International Community in this regard. HRH Premier hailed the role played by Saudi Arabia, noting that thanks to Saudi efforts to bring Arabs and Muslims together, the Arabs have regained their influence and strength in international politics. HRH the Prime Minister affirmed that GCC countries support each other, which, he stressed, reflects the long history of fraternity and rapprochements among these states and peoples.
