HRH Crown Prince receives Batelco newly-appointed Chairman

Manama, July 19 (BNA): His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al-Khalifa, Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Prime Minister, today met with the newly appointed Chairman of the Board Directors of the Bahrain Telecommunications Company (Batelco), Shaikh Abdulla bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, at Gudaibiya Palace. HRH stressed that telecommunications companies must continue to prioritise service, product and infrastructure development to improve the sector’s competitiveness. In this regard, HRH noted that the telecommunications sector continues to play an essential role in the Kingdom’s economy. HRH later underlined the effectiveness of the Kingdom’s advanced regulatory framework, noting that the work of the Telecommunications Regulatory Authority and the Ministry of Telecommunications and Transport has been instrumental in ensuring that Bahrain’s telecoms sector remains an example of international best practice. Shaikh Ali bin Khalifa bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, Board member of Batelco, also attended the meeting.
