HRH Crown Prince thanks Shaikh Khalid for Olympic victory

Manama, Aug. 16 (BNA): His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Prime Minister, has expressed thanks and appreciation to the First Deputy Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sport and President of the Bahrain Athletics Association, HH Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, in reply to his congratulations on the kingdom’s winning of a gold and a silver medals at Rio 2016. HRH the Crown Prince lauded HH Shaikh Khalid’s continuous efforts and close follow-up which, HRH said, led to kingdom’s victory at such a mega international sporting event. HRH Crown Prince thanked Bahraini athletes Ruth Jebet, for winning the gold medal of the women's 3000m steeplechase, Eunice Kirwa, for clinching the silver medal of the women’s marathon, and Ali Khamis, for qualifying for the final of the men’s 400 m. HRH the Crown Prince congratulated all Bahraini participants in the Rio Olympic Games for their high sporting spirit, and their ability to compete honourably in all competitions in a way that reflects the distinctive qualities of the Bahraini citizens.
