HRH Crown Prince tours BIC on first day of 2018 Formula 1 Gulf Air Bahrain Grand Prix

Manama, Apr. 6 (BNA): His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Prime Minister, today visited the Bahrain International Circuit (BIC), and attended the first day of the 2018 Formula 1 Gulf Air Bahrain Grand Prix. During the visit, HRH the Crown Prince noted that the whole Kingdom is delighted to welcome back the F1 community to what has become known as the Home of Motorsport in the Middle East. HRH the Crown Prince praised the role of the dedicated staff and volunteers, whose efforts have been instrumental in organising another successful Grand Prix, that showcases the very best of Bahrain on the global stage. HRH the Crown Prince went on to note that the annual race has become one of the region’s most prominent sporting occasions, demonstrating Bahrain’s ability to host world-class events. HRH the Crown Prince went on to praise Bahrain’s citizens, whose support and dedication to the Bahrain Grand Prix has ensured the race continues to contribute positively to the Kingdom’s sustainable economic development. HRH the Crown Prince added that the Bahrain International Circuit (BIC) is both an important contributor to the country’s diversified economy and a window to Bahrain’s potential as a destination for international events. His Royal Highness wished the teams and competitors success for the second race in the 2018 Formula 1 season, which promises to be an exciting event for all spectators and Formula 1 fans.
