HRH Crown Prince's directive to develop seafront hailed

Manama, Mar. 19 (BNA): Capital Governor Shaikh Hisham bin Abdulrahman Al Khalifa hailed the directive of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Prime Minister the President of the High Committee for Urban Planning to endorse the overall blueprints of Phase I of the seafront between Manama and Muharraq, including the walkway, biking course, greenery, touristic and recreational facilities, restaurants and utilities extending 14-km from Juffair to the King Faisal Corniche. "The project translates the wise leadership’s vision and directive to establish sustainable urban development projects on the ground to reflect on the quality of living as a basic indicator of Bahrain’s flourishing prosperous cities," said the governor. Shaikh Hisham also said that this project will elevate the status of the capital Manama among the region’s capitals in view of its role in spurring the sustainable eco-friendly tourism activities to achieve the welfare of all citizens commensurate with the government plan to promote the concept of comprehensive human development on the one hand, and the project’s harmonization with the Kingdom’s Strategic Plan 2030 whilst taking into account the importance of urbanization as the mainstay of Bahrain’s economic boom, on the other hand. The governor affirmed that the capital Manama has witnessed constant progress and growth in the prosperous reign of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, as well as the heed to economic, mercantile and cultural aspects that gave Manama its unique elegant features. He pointed out that the capital boasts and is delighted with this major project which will provide the essential services to all citizens and residents as a breathing space for them especially as the sea was typical of the Bahraini community’s main sources of breadwinning.
