HRH Premier: Bahraini workers real asset of the nation

Manama, Apr. 5 (BNA): His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa has affirmed the government's keenness on supporting trade and trade unions and facilitating their work, being the representatives of workers who are one of three production parties. This came as HRH the Prime Minister received at the Gudaibiya Palace today the Secretariat-General of the General Federation of Bahrain Trade Unions (GFBTU), led by secretary-general Hassan Abdulla Al-Halwachi. HRH Premier stressed the need to enhance cooperation among parties related to labour affairs in order to increase the workers' gains that support the government's efforts and initiatives to put in place a suitable work environment for Bahraini employees, whether in the public or private sectors. The Bahraini workers are the real asset of the nation, and, therefore, concerted efforts are required to make their work environment perfect, HRH Premier said. The Prime Minister called on Bahraini trade unions to take advantage of Arab and international labour gatherings to project the bright image of the labour situation in Bahrain, and highlight the efforts exerted by the government in order to consolidate the Bahraini workers' gains. HRH the Prime Minister underlined the government's keenness to adopt initiatives that provide decent jobs for the citizens and ensure that employment opportunities for them are not affected by any economic developments and challenges. HRH Premier praised the role played by the Bahraini workers, describing them as the cornerstone of the development and progress march in the kingdom, wishing GFBTU every success in achieving more labour gains. GFBTU secretary-general credited HRH Premier for the labour gains attained in the kingdom, noting that the Prime Minister's visions and endless giving have placed Bahrain among big countries, despite its small size. Al-Halwachi conveyed to HRH the Prime Minister appreciation of workers for his constant interest in training and rehabilitating the national workforce and keenness to ensure they are given priority in employment, as the best means to ensure decent job opportunities that provide Bahraini youth decent living and social welfare. He emphasised the Bahraini workers' pride in HRH Premier's assertion that the Bahraini citizens are the real assets of the nation, and that their efforts make Bahrain stronger in overcoming all challenges. He asserted that GFBTU will spare no effort to highlight the bright image of the labour situation in the kingdom at all labour gatherings.
