HRH Premier chairs Cabinet session

Manama, Aug. 13 (BNA): His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa chaired the regular weekly Cabinet session, attended by His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Premier, at the Gudaibiya Palace today.
Premier extends Eid Al-Adha congratulations
HRH Premier extended deepest congratulations to His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, HRH the Crown Prince, the Bahraini people and Muslims all over the world on Eid Al-Adha, wishing all of them many happy returns of the auspicious occasion.
Saudi Arabia’s services to pilgrims lauded
The Prime Minister prayed to Allah the Almighty to bestow rewards on pilgrims, lauding, in this regard, the great services and huge facilities provided by Saudi Arabia, under the leadership of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al-Saud, to enable pilgrims to perform Haj rituals easily and comfortably, a post-session statement by the Cabinet Secretary-General, Dr. Yasser bin Isa Al-Nasser, said.
Bahraini youth’s role hailed
HRH the Prime Minister saluted Bahraini youth, marking the International Youth Day 2018, themed "Safe Spaces for Youth", lauding the key role they are playing in the kingdom’s development progress.
The Premier underlined the government’s unwavering keenness to support Bahrain youth’s effective involvement in the decision-making process, and interest in providing safe spaces for them to develop their skills and capabilities through programmes and initiatives in its action plan.
Directives to relocate scrap area in Mazraa
HRH Premier gave directives to relocate the current scrap area in Mazraa to another site to ensure its security and administrative organisation, prevent violations and irregularities and pave the way for supervision over it.
The Ministerial Committee for Construction and Infrastructure was requested to study the matter, in cooperation with the Southern Governorate and other relevant authorities.
Silat Al-Khaleej Company’s legal status to be amended
The Cabinet approved, based on a recommendation by the Executive Committee, chaired by HRH the Crown Prince, a proposal to amend the legal status of the Silat Al-Khaleej Company.
The competent authorities were requested to take the necessary procedures to implement the amendment, under which the Government of Bahrain will be a partner in the company.
Khalifa Bin Salman Port’s operations reviewed
The session reviewed the operational situation at Khalifa Bin Salman Port and commended the efforts being exerted to develop its services and performance, as well as the preparations being made to offer the shares of its operating company for public subscription.
The Cabinet endorsed the steps taken so far by the port operators to ensure the success of the Initial public offering (IPO) process, as highlighted in the recommendations presented by the Minister of Transportation and Telecommunications.
Bill on certified copies’ extraction referred to Executive Committee
The session referred to the Executive Committee, chaired by HRH the Crown Prince, a draft resolution on the fees for extracting certified copies from the bankruptcy register data and the information included in the list of bankruptcy trustees.
The bill was prepared in line with the provisions of Law 22/2018 on Re-organisation and Bankruptcy, and was presented by the Justice, Islamic Affairs and Endowments Minister.
TRA’s fee executive regulation to be amended
The session discussed the amendment of the executive regulation regulating the fees imposed by the Telecommunications Regulatory Authority (TRA) on licenses and other services covered by Edict 7/2017.
A draft edict on amending the regulation, included in the memorandum submitted by the Minister of Transportation and Telecommunications, was referred to the Ministerial Committee for Legal Affairs.
MoU on Bahraini-Saudi space cooperation endorsed
The Cabinet referred to the Ministerial Committee for Legal Affairs a memorandum of understanding (MoU) on cooperation between Bahrain and Saudi Arabia in space-related fields.
Under the MoU, presented by Minister of Transportation and Telecommunications, the two parties will cooperate in peaceful space-related activities, and their applications.
Bill on adding paragraph to Criminal Procedure Law referred to parliament
The session reviewed a draft law on adding a new paragraph to Article 159 of the Criminal Procedure Law issued by Decree-Law 46/2002, prepared based on a proposal by the Council of Representatives.
The bill was referred to the Council of Representatives, along with a memorandum on the government’s opinion.
