HRH Premier directs to hold violators accountable

Manama, May 12 (BNA): His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa has directed the Municipalities Affairs at the Works, Municipalities Affairs and Urban Planning Ministry to verify the incident in which amounts of fruit and vegetables were allegedly confiscated from some street vendors and thrown in a waste landfill for the latter's violation of the regulations. HRH Premier issued instructions to hold those responsible administratively accountable if the incident actually happened, and ensure its non-recurrence as it is not consistent with the need to conserve Allah Almighty's blessings. HRH Premier also stressed the need to intensify inspection campaigns to clamp down on street vendors who violate laws and regulations. He also directed to pay more attention to ensure the cleanliness of markets and roads and not occupy them except in accordance with the law.
