HRH Premier hails Bahrain-US ties

Manama, May 6 (BNA): His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al-Khalifa assigned Shaikh Khalifa bin Rashid Al-Khalifa and Shaikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al-Khalifa to attend a ceremony during which Rear Admiral Scott Stearney took over from his outgoing predecessor Vice Admiral John C Aquilino as Commander of the 5th Fleet, the U.S. Naval Forces in Central Command and commander of the Combined Maritime Forces. During the ceremony which was held at the US military base in Juffair, Shaikh Khalifa bin Rashid Al-Khalifa and Shaikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al-Khalifa conveyed greetings and congratulations from HRH the Premier to Rear Admiral Scott Stearney, wishing him every success in his new position. They also conveyed thanks and appreciation from HRH the Premier to outgoing commander Vice Admiral John C Aquilino, hailing his efforts to consolidate joint cooperation and friendship ties, particularly in the military and defence fields. Shaikh Khalifa bin Rashid Al-Khalifa and Shaikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al-Khalifa hailed growing relations in all fields, binding Bahrain and the United States of America. Rear Admiral Scott Stearney lauded deep-rooted historic relations binding the USA and Bahrain, hailing the Kingdom’s support to efforts to achieve peace and stability in the region.
