HRH Premier highlights religious occasions' importance

Manama, Sep. 17 (BNA): His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa has asserted that Bahrain has, throughot its long history, projected to the world a model for fraternity and social cohesion, being its fortified shield and the pillars of its progress and renaissance. HRH the Prime Minister highlighted the importance of religious events and occasions in consolidating the spirit of harmony and strengthening the kingdom’s social fabric, praising the role played by the houses of worship, given their religious status, to maintain unified stances among community members, strengthen and promote the values of moderation and the noble precepts and principles of the Islamic religion. The Prime Minister was speaking as he received the General Authority for Hussainiya Processions’ Chairman, Ibrahim Mansoor Al-Mansoor, and members, at the Gudaibiya Palace today. They submitted to HRH Premier a report on the leadership’s constant support for religious rituals, as well as a historical overview of his unwavering interest in religious affairs and institutions. HRH the Prime Minister gave directives to all the competent authorities to spare no effort and take the necessary procedures to facilitate religious occasions so as to support their role in promoting the values of love and cooperation, praising the cooperation of community and Hussainiya centres with government authorities in organising Hussainiya processions. The Prime Minister asserted that the freedom to exercise religious rituals is guaranteed in the Kingdom of Bahrain, as has been the case throughout the kingdom’s history, within the framework of adherence to the Islamic values of tolerance and moderation. HRH Premier commended the efforts exerted by the chairman and members of the General Authority for Hussainiya Processions to commemorate religious seasons and consolidate Bahrain’s long-standing cultural and social heritage. General Authority for Hussainiya Processions’ chairman and members extended thanks, appreciation and gratitude to HRH Premier for receiving them, lauding his directives to provide the necessary facilities for the Ashoora Commemoration season, and to hold the rituals within an atmosphere of security and tranquility, in line with Bahrain’s long history of freedom and openness which allows the followers of all religions and sects to practise their rituals freely. They also praised HRH Premier’s unwavering interest in social and religious affairs in the kingdom.
