HRH Premier lauds Bahraini-Thai relations

Manama, Feb. 21 (BNA): His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa stressed Bahrain's keenness to boost cooperation with Thailand and promote trade and economic exchange between the two friendly countries.  He was speaking as he received at his palace, in Riffa, today Thailand’s Foreign Minister Don Pramudwinai and his accompanying delegation. He praised growing relations between both countries which reflect strong ties based on mutual understanding and respect. HRH the Premier hailed the visit of the Thai delegation, stressing the need to maintain coordination and communication between officials from both countries to discuss ways of enhancing cooperation and map out mechanisms to carry out agreements and memos.  He affirmed the importance of the meetings of the high joint committee in boosting bilateral relations, pointing out the importance of the strategic location of both countries in fostering cooperation in political and economic fields.  He also underlined the need to encourage investors from both countries to cement economic and commercial ties mainly in the agricultural and health fields. HRH the Prime Minister recalled the successful visit of his Thai counterpart General Prayut Chan-o-cha to Bahrain and its positive results in promoting bilateral cooperation.  He praised the role of the Thai community in Bahrain’s development, stressing the care given to it by the government. He also lauded development in Thailand and its key role in the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) which enjoys a political and economic importance and a growing role at the international level. HRH the Premier asked the Thai Foreign Minister to convey his greetings to the Thai Prime Minister and his best wishes of further progress and prosperity to Thailand and its people. The Thai minister lauded the efforts of HRH the Premier to further strengthen bilateral relations, praising his effective role and contribution to bolstering cooperation between the two friendly countries. He also conveyed the deep respect and appreciation of his Thai counterpart. He underlined his country’s keenness to boost cooperation to serve common interests.
