HRH Premier to patronise MEPEC 2019

Manama, Sep. 14 (BNA): Under the patronage of His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa, the Kingdom of Bahrain will host the fifth edition of the Middle East Process Engineering Conference and Exhibition (MEPEC 2019) and the first edition of the World Petroleum Council Conference during the period 14-16 October 2019.
Held at the Bahrain International Exhibition and Convention Centre, the events will be themed “Transformation of Process Engineering through Innovation”.
Since its inception in 2011, the Middle East Energy Events and the American Institute of Chemical Engineers have been organising this event in collaboration and coordination with the National Oil and Gas Authority (NOGA) and with the support of Saudi Aramco and a number of local, regional and international companies in order to take advantage of opportunities in the region and increase the demand for the use of modern technology, for efficiency and performance in oil, gas and petrochemicals.
Minister of Oil, Shaikh Mohammed bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, expressed his deep thanks and appreciation to HRH the Prime Minister for patronising this global event, which is one of the main conferences and exhibitions in the oil, gas and petrochemicals sector. The event has earned a good reputation in the Middle East.
The minister pointed out that this event is a great platform for large international companies specialised in the field of process engineering techniques in other companies and institutions to exchange information about the latest experiences, provide the best administrative and technical practices and review the best modern technologies and best engineering solutions in raising the efficiency of work.
He said that process engineering is one of the important topics in several specialised aspects, such as production process engineering, control processes, process progress, tools and advanced equipment to help develop this vital sector.
The Oil Minister pointed out that the Kingdom of Bahrain strives to attract modern technologies to contribute to the development of various projects, such as the Bahrain refinery modernization project, the third gas plant, the liquefied gas project and the oil pipelines.
He pointed out that MEPEC will witness a series of specialised strategic initiatives and stimulating content with the participation of industry leaders in the oil sector to develop innovative solutions for development.
The most important of these initiatives is the angle of innovation and creativity of industrial enterprises with the participation of a number of companies from around the world to discuss various global economic issues, the Middle East competition for cars powered by chemical and to promote the participation of young people in the process engineering sector from various local universities, regional and global forum in addition to the Leadership Excellence for Women Awards and Symposium (LEWAS 2019), which is dedicated to the celebration of professional excellence and leadership in the field of innovation and talent shown by the female element in the academic and business sectors in the oil and gas industry.
The minister added that MEPEC's activities this year will include the launch of the first edition in Bahrain of the World Petroleum Council Conference, which is one of the largest international conferences specialized in the field of petroleum, which will address a number of important topics in the strategy of refining, petrochemical leadership, and changes in national visions, business models, customer requirements, environment, sustainability, security and other related topics.
The conference is expected to attract over 3,500 participants from researchers, officials and executives, as well as engineers, specialists, businessmen and investors in the process engineering and oil and gas technology sector, and universities from the Kingdom of Bahrain, the Gulf Cooperation Council, the Middle East and the world. The 8000 square kilometre exhibition is expected to attract over 500 national and international oil and gas, refining and petrochemical companies and major operators from 50 countries.
Held every two years under the patronage of HRH the Prime Minister, MEPEC aims to take advantage of the opportunities available in the region and increase the demand for the use of modern technology to raise the level of efficiency and performance in oil, gas and petrochemicals and the addition of a distinctive quality to the process engineering industry through smart engineering as well as excellence in manufacturing and operation.
This event is one of the international oil events that are held regularly and attended by a large number participants and a special presence of international oil companies in the accompanying exhibition.
