HRH Premier praises Shaikh Salman bin Ibrahim

Manama, Feb. 26 (BNA): His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa has asserted that Shaikh Salman bin Ibrahim Al Khalifa honoured Bahrain and the Arab World during the FIFA presidency elections. Shaikh Salman bin Ibrahim deserves to be congratulated for his honourable participation even though he did not win the race, he said, stressing that his FIFA presidency bid has proved the confidence of international associations in the kingdom of Bahrain and the ability of its citizens in leading efforts to develop football across the world. HRH the Prime Minister affirmed that Bahrain and its people are proud of Shaikh Salman’s achievements during FIFA presidency elections, stressing that he represented the kingdom and its people exceptionally well during the prestigious international gathering. Sufficient to say that he was a strong contender and was closer to reaching FIFA’s top job, HRH Premier added, noting that Shaikh Salman’s FIFA presidency bid has succeeded in drawing the world’s attention towards Bahrain and other Arab countries and informed the International Community about their landmark sports achievements. HRH the Prime Minister emphasised that Shaikh Salman enjoys a rich record of successes and achievements at the local, Asian and international levels that qualify him to hold any international post, citing his successes as a President of the Asian Football Federation (AFC). HRH Premier extended utmost thanks and appreciation to all countries that supported Bahrain during the FIFA presidential elections and believed in the ability of the kingdom and its citizens in leading change and development of the football, paying special tribute to the Bahraini people for their support and the feelings they have showcased throughout the FIFA electoral process. HRH the Prime Minister valued highly the national media and press for highlighting Bahrain’s sports achievements and assertion of its ability to hold regional and international decision-making posts. He also thanked Arab and international press for adopting credibility as an approach to inform the global football community about Shaikh Salman’s innumerable achievements and his ability to lead FIFA. HRH Premier wished Shaikh Salman bin Ibrahim further success, and appreciated his commendable efforts to honour his country at international gatherings.
