HRH Premier receives NBB new Board

Manama, May 8 (BNA): His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa received at Gudaibiya Palace today the National Bank of Bahrain (NBB) new Board of Directors, led by Chairman Farooq Al-Moayed. He congratulated them on their election, wishing them every success in serving the national economy. HRH the Prime Minister hailed the role of the private sector in charity and social work within the framework of adherence to the social responsibility principle and to boost community partnership in development. He lauded the NBB contribution to fast-tracking economic growth, stressing the bank’s role in the field of charity and social work. He praised the bank’s initiative to build a modern and comprehensive health centre in Khalifa Town in the Southern Governorate, describing the initiative as a model in social responsibility to press ahead with development and optimise services for citizens. HRH the Premier underlined the important role played by the banking and financial institutions in backing the development efforts and promoting the investment climate. He described the banks as a main pillar of the national economy, stressing the government’s keenness to provide them with an organisational and legislative climate that guarantees their development and success. He hailed partnership between the public and private sectors and its role in meeting citizens’ needs and achieving their aspirations. He affirmed the government’s resolve to further develop the health sector by implementing more projects and providing cutting edge medical equipment as part of an ambitious strategy to ensure quality and effective health services for all people in Bahrain. He directed ministries and relevant parties to follow up on the implementation of the new health centre project in Khalifa Town in coordination with NBB. The NBB Board of Directors lauded HRH the Premier’s support and care for the banking sector, thanking him for his efforts to ensure its development which earned Bahrain an advanced place at the regional and international level. They pointed out that the bank’s initiative to build the health centre is part of the private and public sectors’ contribution to social development and in line with the government’s trend to upgrade the health sector and optimise services.
