HRH Premier stresses solid Bahrain-US relations

Manama, May 26 (BNA): His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa has stressed that international cooperation is of utmost importance under the current circumstances, noting that Bahrain seeks to strengthen its relations with various countries, including the United States of America. The Premier affirmed Bahrain’s keenness to ensure that its ties with USA should always be strong to pave the way for constantly bolstering cooperation between them, being allies with long-standing relations. "We want to see every country in the region enjoying security and stability, and we very much count on the United States to ensure balance and stability in the region and the world,” he said. The Prime Minister emphasised that the region’s security situation should always remain stable, given its political and economic weight, as well as its global influential role, noting that the events are unfolding rapidly and they have to be dealt with in a way that achieves the aspirations of the region’s countries and peoples. HRH Premier was speaking while receiving a US Congress delegation, led by Congressman, Darrell Issa. The Prime Minister asserted that US President, Donald Trump, came at a crucial time, and has taken the right decisions that have very much saved the region’s security situation, and consolidated its stability, pointing out that Bahrain would support every effort aimed at enhancing development and strengthening the pillars of global security and stability. HRH Premier reviewed with the delegation the efforts being exerted by Bahrain to accelerate the pace of its economic development process, stressing that the kingdom allocates great importance to economy and that the government is doing its utmost to diversify the sources of non-oil income resources. The delegation praised HRH Premier’s successful leadership of the government, as well as his influential contributions to regional stability and development thanks to his statesmanship and experience. The delegation valued highly the existing strong Bahrain-U.S strategic partnership, and its fruitful outcomes, both at the bilateral and international levels.
