HRH Premier visits Muharraq Central Market project

Manama, Apr. 3 (BNA): His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa paid a visit today to Muharraq Central Market project which is one of the ventures he directed to implement in Muharraq.
HRH the Premier directed to open the market to the public before the last quarter of 2018. He also directed the competent authorities to study allocating the square opposite the project to avail of it as public parks in addition to the project’s land parks.
HRH the Prime Minister urged citizens to benefit from the job opportunities which will be provided by the project that covers an area of 28,000 sqm and comprises three storeys that are four times as big as the old central market. The project will also feature a huge commercial centre and outlets covering an area of 3000 sqm besides 106 outlets for the meat, fish and vegetables markets.
HRH the Premier was briefed during the visit about progress of work on the project through a presentation by the officials of the company in charge. He was also informed about the project’s equipment and facilities aimed at providing comprehensive and developed shopping centres of contemporary style. He directed the Ministry of Works, Municipality Affairs and Urban Planning to follow up on the work process on the project and ensure its completion as scheduled. He also expressed appreciation of the citizens’ efforts in carrying out projects which reflects the active contribution of the private sector in the development projects adopted by the government.
HRH the Prime Minister underlined the government’s keenness on ensuring modernity and diversity of Muharraq Central Market to serve citizens, stressing the importance of central markets and their role in boosting the trade momentum in Bahrain. He hailed the role of the private sector as well as small and medium enterprises in backing the kingdom’s development march, stressing the importance of community partnership in strengthening the national economy.
HRH the Premier affirmed the government’s keenness to provide high-quality services facilities that comply with high quality standards all over Bahrain so as to boost citizens’ welfare.
