Manama, Apr. 3 (BNA): His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa continued his field visits to the development projects which he had ordered in Muharraq, and was informed about their implementation progress.
While visiting the Saada Waterfront Project, west of Moharraq, HRH the Prime Minister gave directives to finalise the first phase of the project, which includes seven buildings and 45 restaurants and cafes, within one, or by the April, 2019.
HRH Premier also gave directives to expedite the construction of the multi-storey car park, which connects the Saada Project and the Muharraq Market, and put it out to tender, urging to avoid traffic congestions during the construction works.
The Prime Minister also stressed the need to speed up the issuance of construction permits so as not to delay investments, or affect Bahrain’s competitive potentials, as the best means to main the kingdom’s status as a leading hub for investments and investors.
HRH Premier inspected the Saada project, and was updated about the completion of the projects that pave the way for implementing its first phase.
The Prime Minister was informed, through a presentation by the project’s consultants and engineers, about what has been achieved on the ground ever since he issued his directives to launch the Saada Project.
The Prime Minister was also briefed by the Deputy Premier and Chairman of the Ministerial Committee for Urbanisation and Infrastructure, Shaikh Khalid bin Abdulla Al Khalifa, and Minister of Works, Municipalities Affairs and Urban Planning, about the BD 8 million-project’s progress, time frame and phases.
An 18,000-square-metre area had been reclaimed and prepared, walls to block water had been constructed, and ahead of the beginning of the project and jetties had been established, HRH Premier was told.
The project will provide an outlet for the Muharraq citizens, as well as a recreational and commercial monument that adds to the city’s civilisational sites that attract the citizens.
HRH Premier affirmed the need to speed up the implementation of the project to provide recreational areas and facilities for the citizens in Muharraq, in particular, and the kingdom, in general, highlighting the government’s constant keenness on putting in place all requirements that ensure comfort for the citizens in various sectors.
HRH the Prime Minister highlighted the touristic and commercial importance of the project, which, he said, will achieve a quantum leap in the commercial and recreational services in Muharraq.
The Prime Minister stressed the government’s resolve to continue implementing service and urban projects across the kingdom’s towns and villages commensurate with their needs and the requirements of their inhabitants.
HRH Premier noted that many development projects are implemented in Muharraq, given the city’s historical and cultural status, stressing the need to provide facilities for all projects that serve sustainable development nationwide.
"The citizens of Bahrain in various regions are the pillar and cornerstone of the development process, and we have to harness all potentials and direct them towards efforts to enhance the progress that benefits Bahrain and its people," HRH Premier said.
