HRH Premier voices pride in 'Flame of Peace' Award

Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa today received the Association for the Furtherance of Peace President Her Imperial Highness Archduchess Herta Margarete, and Vice-President Archduke Sandor von Habsburg, who are currently on a visit to the kingdom to confer on HRH the Prime Minister the "Flame of Peace" award, which is sponsored by the Habsburg of the former Austrian Empire. HRH Premier affirmed that all people in the world are peace-loving. He stressed that terrorism is alien, man-made and has nothing to do with religions which commend co-existence and harmony among humans, noting that peoples of the region are pacifist, and share interests with other countries of the world. "Displacement and forced migration are the result of terrorism and some policies which, regretfully, also ignited tensions, led to the destruction of countries and affected peoples' future negatively," HRH Premier said. He stressed that even if countries adopt divergent policies, they should reconcile their stances in order to preserve the interests of their peoples. HRH Premier voiced pride in obtaining the "Flame of Peace" Award, noting that it reflects the constant follow-up of international specialised agencies and institutions on the efforts exerted by the kingdom to promote humanitarian work and strengthen relations among peoples of the world.
