HRH Premier's support for GEO 2016 highlighted

Manama, Mar 8 (BNA): Energy Minister Dr. Abdul Hussain bin Ali Mirza expressed appreciation of the keenness of HRH Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa to patronize the Middle East Geosciences Conference & Exhibition since its inception in 1994. The minister said HRH the Premier's support and follow up to this key event accentuates the government's willingness to constantly develop oil and gas sector. The minister also expressed sincere thanks to Deputy Premier Shaikh Ali bin Khalifa Al Khalifa for opening GEO 2016 conference. He stressed that the participation of Saudi Aramco and other Gulf companies reflects the strength of the Bahraini relations with Saudi Arabia and the rest of the GCC countries, pointing the Gulf support for the development of Bahrain's oil sector. He added that the participation of international oil companies on regular basis in this global event is a testament to the global status enjoyed by "Geo 2016", as well as Bahrain as an attractive hub to host major oil and other specialized activities that contribute to boosting trade and tourist movement, consequently the national economy. More than 1500 participants representing national, Gulf and global companies specialized in oil sector are participating. And more than 5000 visitors are expected to visit the GEO 2016 to learn about the latest technology in geological sciences and oil sector.
