HRH Princess Sabeeka to patronise conference 2

Manama, Oct 29 (BNA): A conference will be held on Sunday, corresponding to the 5th of November, in tribute to Bahraini women engineers.
Her Royal Highness Princess Sabeeka bint Ibrahim Al-Khalifa, Wife of His Majesty the King and President of the Supreme Council for Women (SCW) will patronise the event at the Isa Cultural Centre.
Bahrain Society of Engineers is organising the conference in cooperation with the Supreme Council for Women (SCW) under the theme “Sustainable Achievement..International Competitiveness”.
The upcoming conference is part of festivities and activities marking the annual Bahrain Women’s Day, which will celebrate this year women engineers.
The conference will scrutinise the reality of Bahraini women engineers in the labour market and focus particularly on their sustainable presence and participation in the public and private sectors.
The focus will also be put on challenges facing women working in the engineering sector as well as required policies to integrate their needs and ensuring their sustainability.
Her Royal Highness Princess Soltana bint Badr bin Saud Al-Saud, Urban Development Programmes director and
board member of Bunyan Women’s Charitable Association for Family Development will be the keynote speaker at the opening session.
A discussion session focusing on women engineers’ empowerment will be held, in the presence of Dr. Tarek El Shaikh, Regional Representative for Gulf States, UN-Habitat, Argentinean international expert Ana Falo, UN Habitat Planning Unit Chief Laura Petrella and Urban Vision Executive Director Faeq Al-Mandeel.
The conference features also three sessions which will be held respectively under the themes “Women’s participation in the engineering sector” and “Labour Market needs and promising engineering specialities for Bahraini women”.
The third session will be held under the theme “The role of civil society vocational institution and the utility of networking with international organisations to expand women engineers’ prospects”.
