HRH Princess Sabeeka receives Industry Minister

Manama, Feb. 28 (BNA): Her Royal Highness Princess Sabeeka bint Ibrahim Al Khalifa, Wife of His Majesty the King and President of the Supreme Council for Women (SCW) received at the SCW headquarters, in Riffa, today Minister of Industry, Commerce and Tourism Zayed bin Rashid Al Zayani, in the presence of Chief Executive of Bahrain Tourism and Exhibition Authority (BTEA) Shaikh Khalid bin Humood Al Khalifa. HRH Princess Sabeeka lauded the efforts of the Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Tourism in mapping out strategies and plans to develop handicrafts in Bahain and promote it locally, regionally and internationally. She stressed the need to preserve handicrafts, develop them and encourage the new generation to give them consideration. She also underlined the need to boost the role of Bahraini women in this respect, in line with the kingdom’s trends to ensure equal opportunities. The Industry, Commerce and Tourism Minister commended HRH Princess Sabeeka’s keenness to preserve the kingdom’s heritage and support productive families. He asserted the ministry’s constant readiness to cooperate with SCW to harmonize the ministry’s programmes and projects with the national scheme for the empowerment of Bahraini women.
