Human development on top of IPU priorities- Speaker

Belgrade, Oct. 16 (BNA): Speaker Fawzia bint Abdullah Zainal, participated in the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU)'s 141st meeting held in Serbia. She highlighted that the union's priority includes supporting human development efforts, investing all projects and laws, addressing all challenges and creating opportunities, providing quality job chances for youth and supporting the progress of women, while consolidating respect for the law. Zainal stressed that Bahrain, under the directives of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, is advanced in the field of sustainable development in all its aspects, it has made great strides in the advancement of Bahraini women, who are today an active partner in the nation-building, especially as it celebrates the centennial of many developmental fields today. Speaker welcomed the enhancement of cooperation with the IPU in achieving the aspirations of peoples through active partnership, and in activating the role of parliamentary institutions and developing their legislative and monitoring role.
