Manama, Sep. 18 (BNA): Assistant Foreign Minister Abdullah bin Faisal bin Jabur Al Doseri, expressed his satisfaction with the constructive cooperation with the Human Rights Council and Human Rights Council President, Joaqu?n Alexander Maza Martelli, on the sidelines of the thirty-sixth session of the Human Rights Council in Geneva.
During the meeting, he reviewed the Kingdom's pioneering achievements in promoting and protecting human rights, ensuring justice and human dignity for all citizens under a fair judiciary, independent human rights institutions and effective government policy.
The President of the Human Rights Council praised the efforts of the Kingdom of Bahrain and its constructive cooperation with the Council, noting his understanding of the challenges facing the Kingdom of Bahrain.
The meeting also discussed the importance of fighting terrorism and protecting human rights. The Assistant Foreign Minister said that although Qatar has not responded to the initiative of His Highness the Amir of Kuwait and did not stop supporting terrorism and its financing and extremism, despite the severing of diplomatic relations with Qatar by Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, UAE and Egypt, the countries of the region have taken legal and humanitarian measures to protect the rights of Qatari citizens in order to preserve the social fabric and families.
