Illegal broker, luring Thais to work in S.Korea nabbed

BANGKOK, Sept 15 (TNA) - Police arrested a woman, opening a Facebook page, luring Thais to work in South Korea without permission. The page convinced Thais to work as masseuses or work in farms and restaurants in South Korea. She charged between 25,000 – 30,000 baht from each worker for service fee. The woman told the police that she had worked as illegal broker more than four months but had never sent any worker to that country before. Officials are expanding investigation to arrest administrators 10 other similar Facebook pages. According to the police, more than 50,000 Thais who left Thailand and visited South Korea as tourists are working illegally in that country yearly. Because of the illegal practice, the Ministry of Justice of South Korea is considering revoking visa exemption for Thai tourists. (TNA)
