Illegal fundraiser to stand trial on August 22

Manama, July 31 (BNA): Deputy Prosecutor at the Capital Governorate, said the Public Prosecution had completed its investigations in the case of an individual involved in money laundering, unlicensed fundraising, publicly insulting one of the faiths and also insulting a glorified figure of that faith.
The Prosecution referred the case to the High Criminal Court wherein the suspect will stand trial on August 22.
Investigations conducted by the Fiscal Investigation Section at the Anti-corruption, Economic Security and Cybercrime Directorate indicated that the suspect had committed the crimes of unlicensed fundraising for the purpose of financing (Fadak) and (Sawt Alitra) two radical channels and the production of a movie that insults the companions of Prophet Mohammed (PBUH).
After legal permission was obtained, the suspect was arrested in possession of various tools he used in fundraising, including receipts, seals, and electronic communication devices he used to get in touch with both TV channels and their managements. He also used these tools to publish his ideologies and in insulting the companions and the wives of the Prophet Mohammed (PBUH).
Investigations indicated that the suspect was in the habit of fundraising and concealed his horde to evade legal accountability and sent the collected funds to the accounts of these two channels and their managements in tranches via an untraceable clandestine electronic money remittance system.
The suspect told the Public Prosecution during questioning that the two channels are owned by a leading cleric who belonged to one of the religious currents who resides in a foreign country. He was assisted by the managers of the two television channels to achieve their end goals of transmitting and publicising such ideologies and beliefs and insulting the companions and wives of the Prophet Mohammed (PBUH), may Allah be pleased with all of them.
