Indonesia Encourages Disputes Settlement in Ukraine Peacefully
Jakarta, Feb 14 (Antara) - The Indonesian government has expressed support for the settlement of disputes in Ukraine peacefully, stated a press release from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs received here on Saturday.
Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated that Indonesia welcomed the results that have been achieved in the four-party meeting between Russia, Ukraine, Germany and France in Minsk, Republic of Belarus on 12 Feruari 2015.
The Indonesian government believes that the meeting has shown to the world on the strength of the desire of all parties to defuse tension in Ukraine.
Indonesia encourages any kind of efforts to reduce tensions and the settlement of disputes, as stated in the Pacific Settlement of Disputes.
In addition, Indonesia also expects a further meeting to resolve the conflict and bring peace in Ukraine.
Indonesian Government considers that an agreement between the parties who involves in disputes can resolve the conflicts peacefully, comprehensively, and thoroughly on security issues in Ukraine.
The Indonesian government will support all the advanced process that must be taken as the implementation of the agreement cease and withdrawal of weapons.
Earlier, Russian President Vladimir Putin said that he and the leaders of France, Germany and Ukraine have agreed on the withdrawal of heavy weapons from the forefront of Ukraine and the ceasefire which began February 15.
"We have agreed on the main point. We have agreed a ceasefire, which will begin at midnight on February 15," Putin stated.
"The second point is the withdrawal of heavy weapons from the Ukrainian troops and the Donbass rebels of lines which is specified in the Minsk agreement on 19 September," the Russian President added.
