Industry, Commerce Minister receives Russian Ambassador

Manama: April 2 – (BNA): Minister of Industry and Commerce Der. Hassan Abdullah Fakhro received today the Ambassador of the Russian Federation to the Kingdom of Bahrain, Viktor Smirnov. The Minister expressed the leadership’s and the Government’s appreciation of all efforts being exerted by the Embassy and Ambassador of the Russian Federation to the Kingdom of Bahrain in boosting the bilateral relations and translating of the agreements and memoranda of understanding between the private sector in both countries during the successful visit of HM the King to the Russian Federation into joint ventures and programmes which reflect the ambitions of both countries in order to boost their relations into advanced levels, particularly in the economic and investment fields. The Minister cited the continuity of steps and initiatives which contribute in this direction to accomplish the interest of the two peoples. The Russian Ambassador expressed his government’s utmost appreciation of all the efforts of the Government of Bahrain in boosting economic cooperation between the two friendly countries. The Ambassador cited current arrangements on the part of the Embassy in cooperation with various governmental and private bodies in Bahrain and in Russia for the visit of a high-level Russian delegation, comprising the Advisor of the Russian President and 15 senior Russian governmental officials and members from the private sector in mid-April to explore several issues of mutual interest in all fields, including the economic field. Also, bilateral and multilateral meetings will be arranged in order to reach more understandings and to increase the volume of cooperation and the bilateral relations in all fields. Ambassador Smirnov praised the remarkable economic and urban development and growth witnessed now in the Kingdom of Bahrain which makes it an advanced investment and commercial hub thanks to the wise policies of the leadership and the government.(IY) I.Y
