Information Minister congratulates leadership on F1 success

Manama, April 3 (BNA): Information Minister Ali bin Mohammed Al Rumaihi extended heartfelt congratulations to Bahrain leadership and people on success of 2016 F1 Gulf Air Bahrain Grand Prix. He took pride in the outstanding organisation of the major sporting event at all levels. He thanked all ministries for the distinguished procedures taken to ensure security for the participating teams, visitors and media staff, lauding the tremendous contribution of the Interior Ministry to the success of F1 and its associated events. The Information Minister praised the comprehensive technical and information facilities provided at the Bahrain International Circuit's Media Centre for more than 520 media persons from local and international mass media and news agencies to cover the third biggest world championship. He paid tribute to the Information Ministry personnel for their cooperation with BIC management and the relevant government bodies to provide full and optimum coverage of the event. he asserted that the amazing success of BIC, the home of motorsport in the Middle East, in organising F1 for the 12th year and the massive turnout of fans throughout the race days underlines the growing international confidence in Bahrain's standing on the world sport and tourism map as well as its deep-rooted historical value as an oasis of peace, tolerance and co-existence. The Information Minister affirmed that Bahrain's distinction as a major host of international events is the dividend of concerted national efforts as well as partnership between the public and private sector. He underscored the importance of such international events in fast-tracking development, invigorating the trade, tourism, sport and media momentum, luring investments, diversifying revenues, providing job opportunities for citizens and boosting people's welfare.
