Information Minister discusses cooperation with China

Manama, May 22 (BNA): Information Minister Ali bin Mohammed Al Rumaihi received today Chinese Ambassador to Bahrain Qi Zhenhong and discussed with him ways of boosting bilateral relations mainly in the information and telecommunication field as well as regional and international issues of common interest. He praised growing relations of cooperation and friendship between Bahrain and China, stressing the positive outcome of His Majesty the King's visit to Beijing in September 2013. He also pointed out growing relations between both countries in the trade and investment fields, stressing their importance is boosting Bahrain's standing as a regional commercial, touristic and investment hub. The minister commended China's support to Bahrain in its efforts to maintain its security and stability as well as fast-track its reform and development march. He also pointed out both countries' keenness to promote dialogue between civilisations. The Chinese ambassador lauded the minister's keenness to enhance bilateral cooperation in the media field. He reiterated China's unwavering support to Bahrain in its measures to maintain security, stability and national unity and continue the reform and democratic process. He also highlighted Bahrain's standing as a distinguished regional centre for tourism, trade and investments.
