Information Minister hails Egyptian ties

Manama, Aug.29 (BNA): Information Affairs Minister, Head of the Bahrain Institute of Political Development (BIPD), Ali bin Mohammed Al-Romaihi hailed deep-rooted historic relations binding Bahrain and Egypt, lauding steadily-growing ties which are based on mutual respect between the two brotherly leaderships and peoples.
"Bahraini-Egyptian bilateral relations achieved landmark strides under the wise leadership of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al-Khalifa and President Abdul Fattah el-Sisi", he said. In a statement to Middle East News Agency (MENA), he described outstanding and strategic relations binding Bahrain and Egypt as a model to emulate for fraternity, political, economic, security and media partnership.
He commended the pro-Arab firm and honourable stances taken by Egypt which he described as the bulwark and fortified fortress for the Arab and Islamic nations, stressing its unwavering support to the Kingdom of Bahrain and the Arabian Gulf in all international arenas.
He stressed Egypt’s support to the Palestinian issue and firm stances in defending the pan-Arab security, combating terrorism, and rejecting blatant external interference in the Arab internal affairs. He commended the pivotal role played by Egypt, which, he said, represents the cornerstone of security, stability and peace in the Middle East.
Al-Romaihi reiterated Bahrain’s unwavering support and solidarity with Egypt in combating all forms of violence and terrorism, backing all measures it has undertaken to protect its security and stability and meet the aspirations of its brotherly people, towards achieving sustainable economic and social development and progress.
He took pride in the keenness of the two brotherly countries to bolster pan-Arab joint action and unify international efforts in combating the scourges of extremism and terrorism. He stressed the stance of Bahrain and Egypt in support of the countries calling for combating the scourge of terrorism which represents a threat to the security and safety of the Arab countries, their regional sovereignty and peoples’ interests.
The minister reiterated Bahrain’s keenness on consolidating media cooperation with Egypt by exchanging information and news, as well technical expertise, stressing joint coordination to promote the values of tolerance, moderation and confront the ideologies that advocate extremism, hatred and incite on terrorism through the mass media.
