Information Minister to participate in Google Hangout session

Manama, May 10 (BNA): Information Affairs Minister Ali bin Mohammed Al-Rumaihi will take part in a Google Hangout interactive session on Saturday (May14). Scheduled to start at 5:00 PM, the one-hour session will be broadcast live on Bahrain TV YouTube Channel on link: https://www.youtube.com/user/bahraintelevision. The session will be moderated by Omar Farooq Al-Awadhi, fourth year student at Bahrain University, movie-maker and social media activist, in addition to UoB Media, Tourism and Arts assistant-teacher . A founder of Dubai-based Pixels Production Studio will also take part, along with a UoB media student and the UoB Digital Media Division. The minister will participate in the Google Hangout interactive session, aiming to reach out to the largest social media community. Latest statistics show that the number social media subscribers has averaged so far one million in Bahrain, - including 250,000 twitter users and 507, 000 Facebookers. The Google Hangout interactive session reflects the Government's keenness on reaching out to youngsters and addressing their queries via their favourite media channel. YouTube and Twitter users will be engaged in the Google Hangout interactive session. #Hashtag #حوار_مع_وزير_الإعلام will also be available for twitter users to express their opinions during the session, which confirms Bahrain's transparent media that guarantees freedom of opinion to all people from different age categories, regardless of their trends or orientations.
