Information Minister receives Iraqi ambassador

Manama, June 16 (BNA): Information Minister Ali bin Mohammed Al Rumaihi underlined the importance of boosting the role of Arab media in ostracising political sectarianism and extremist calls inciting social division. He stressed the need to maintain Arab national security amid conspiracies targeting the unity, security and stability of the Arab nation and hampering its development march. The Information Minister was speaking as he received today Iraqi Ambassador to Bahrain Dr. Ahmed Nayef Rashid Al Dailami. He discussed with him ways of bolstering bilateral cooperation, mainly in the media field, as well as regional and international issues of common interest. The Information Minister stressed Bahrain’s keenness on Iraq’s unity, sovereignty and territorial integrity, pointing out Bahrain’s active participation in the international Arab coalition to fight terrorist organisations and confront the expansionist greed. The Iraqi ambassador thanked the Information Minister for the meeting, emphasising his country’s keenness to further cement fraternal ties with Bahrain for the best interest of both countries.
