Information Minister welcomes media development initiatives

Manama, Mar. 5 (BNA): Information Affairs Minister Ali bin Mohammed Al Romaihi welcomed the initiative of Al Watan for Publishing and Distribution Company to train 40 young journalists in collaboration with Tamkeen, saying the initiative reflects a national motive targets developing media sector and promoting young Bahraini cadres.
In a statement to Bahrain News Agency (BNA) on the sidelines of patronizing the initiative third patch graduation ceremony, the Information Affairs Minister called on all press institutions to emulate the initiative to create a generation capable of developing the media sector to keep pace with the media development witnessed by the world.
The minister said training the young journalists is the launch of creative thoughts needed to meet Bahrain’s media development ambition, noting the great education and training opportunities available for the youth to gain media expertise, unlike past generations who did not have similar opportunities.
He urged the youth to grab the opportunity to gain skills, emphasizing the Labour Market seeks hiring the outstanding jobseekers, but not just graduates.
At the conclusion of the ceremony, Chairman of Al Watan Media Club, Yusuf Binkhalil, presents the Information Affairs Minister with a commemorative shield in honour of his patronage of the graduation ceremony.
