Integration of students with special needs highlighted

Manama, Sep. 30 (BNA): Bahrain’s strides in integrating students with special needs in public schools were highlighted in a TV documentary. Al-Arabiya News Channel telecast a report highlighting the efforts to incorporate this category of students in mainstream classes in Bahrain. The Ministry of Education has so far co-opted 75 schools to accommodate students with special needs, which represents 36% of the overall number of public educational establishments. Al-Arabiya report shed light on the success stories of students with special needs at public schools, highlighting how the ministry provides specially-equipped buses for students with special needs and allocates them, along with cancer and anemic students, annual scholarships to motivate them to continue their university studies.
